Clara Marian Pfau, 82, of Burlington, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Blair House Nursing and Rehab. Born Nov. 27, 1928, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Peter Adrian and Sylvia Bell Fry Christiansen. On Nov. 3, 1950, she married Robert William Pfau in Burlington. Mrs. Pfau was a Burlington High School graduate. She worked in the electronics department at Winegard. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, a former Sunday school teacher of senior ladies, and a member of the White Cross. She was a former Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a counselor at Brownie camp. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Linda Pfau and Nancy Pfau, both of Burlington, and Joan Miller of Des Moines; two grandsons she raised, Michael Miller and Kyle Miller, both of Des Moines; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Lunning Chapel, where family will receive friends. The graveside funeral service for Mrs. Pfau will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Karas officiating. A memorial has been established for the White Cross at Oak Street Baptist Church.
