Nellie Elizabeth Pettis, 100, of Burlington, died at 3:25 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Danville Care Center in Danvillle. Born Jan. 17, 1907, in Pulaski, she was the daughter of Samual W. and Anna Augusta Henrietta Ploeger Wagler. On Sept. 30, 1930, she married Lamonte Pettis in Mount Pleasant. He died Jan.10, 2005. Mrs. Pettis was a graduate of Pulaski High School. She worked in production for National Research Bureau for 32 years. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. Visitation is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lunning Chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Pettis will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
