Mrs. Lorraine D. Peterson, 87, of Burlington, died at 3:20 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2013, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport.
Born August 28, 1925 in Oakville, she was the daughter of Ezra and Ellen Enz. On February 11, 1945 she married Ralph Wigert. He died in the Korean War on November 6, 1951. On September 12, 1953 she married Wallace E. Peterson in Galesburg, Illinois. He also preceded her in death on December 25, 1991.
Lorraine was a graduate of Oakville High School. She worked at National Research Bureau and on Line 6 at I.A.A.P. She also owned and operated Crystal Cleaners.
Lorraine was a past member of the Moose and Elks Auxiliaries. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, her family, shopping, gardening, canning, and boating. She was a hard worker.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana (Mark) Tromblee of Branson, Missouri and Kim (Jerry) Ryner of West Burlington; one grandson, Blake (Courtney) Ryner of Waukee; and one great grandson, Becket Ryner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Kelli Peterson and granddaughter Julie Ryner.
The funeral service for Lorraine will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 8th, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. David Mixon officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service.
