Mabel L. Pearsall, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, died at Arbor Court Nursing Home on Sunday afternoon, June 17, 2012. Born on February 15, 1923 in Oakville, Iowa, she was the daughter of John H. and Vera Partington Dickey. She married Ralph E. Brown in 1940; they later divorced. She married Ted R. Pearsall in 1972; they later divorced. Mabel was a Supervisor at Winegard Company for 30 years. She loved cooking, gardening, camping, fishing and caring for animals and people. She was of the Protestant faith. She is survived by two sons, Dwight E. (Catherine) Brown and Tim (Catherine) Brown, both of Burlington, Iowa; five grandsons; four granddaughters; three step-grandsons; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three half-brothers and seven half-sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, one infant son, one daughter-in-law, two half-brothers and three grandchildren. Funeral services for Mabel L. Pearsall will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Prugh's Chapel, Burlington, Iowa. Pastor Benjamin Brown will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. No formal visitation is planned. Friends may call in Prugh's Chapel on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Animal Shelter.
