Clara Wilhelmina Paulus, 96, of Burlington, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at St. Francis Continuation Care Center. Born July 5, 1904, in Burlington, She was the daughter of Albert Alexis and Mary Mae Ingersol Luthy. She married Roy Paulus on Oct. 10, 1923, in Burlington. He died Oct. 12, 1980. Mrs. Paulus was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Women's Christian Service Circle and McSpice's. Survivors include one son, Warren Paulus of Burlington; two daughters, Ruth Spicer of Chesapeake, Va., and Helen Yaeger of Burlington; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today in Lunning Chapel. There will be no family visitation. The funeral for Mrs. Paulus will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, with Pastor Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials haave been established for St. Francis Continuation Care Center and Zion United Church of Christ.
