Obituary

Lloyd Wendall Patton, 75, of West Burlington, died 1:32 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Great River Hospice House with his family at his side.
Born July 12, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, he was the son of Lloyd Z. and Wilma Patton. On January 17, 1958 he married Iona Parks at First Christian Church in Burlington.
Mr. Patton was a 1955 graduate of Burlington High School, Blackhawk College, Western Illinois University and the F.B.I Academy. He worked for 32 years at the Burlington Police Department and retired as Chief of Police.
Mr. Patton was a member of West Burlington Christian Church and the Burlington Police Association. He loved camping, traveling south to Mission, Texas in the winter and spending quality time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Iona Patton; one daughter, Debra (Mark) Woodruff; two sons, Duane (Patti Jo) Patton and Dana (Tina) Patton; two brothers, Robert Patton and Mark Patton; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dirk Patton and three sisters, Patricia Pauline Patton, Judy Mae Van Laningham and Jane Ann Leffler.
A memorial has been established for the Great River Hospice House
