Obituary
Wayne Patton, 67, of Burlington, died at 12:10 pm Monday, March 26, 2012, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born July 21, 1944, in Burlington, he was the son of Walter and Bertha Lister Patton. On August 1, 1964, he married Paula Wuellner in Burlington. Wayne worked as a repairman for J.I. Case Company for 38 years. He recently joined the V.F.W. He enjoyed spending time with Saige his dog, and woodworking. He was an Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed watching the games in "his man cave". Survivors include his wife, Paula; one daughter, Kelly (Randy) Schaefer of Burlington; two granddaughters, Cassi and Lynsey; two step-granddaughters, Angel and Sabrina; four step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois (George) Kelly of Roseville, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, Louise, Velda, Mary Ellen, Viola, Dorothy, and Gladys, and four brothers, Earl, Charles, Dennis and Jim. Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Wayne will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2012, at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Vance officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Boys of Summer Scholarship
