Keith LeRoy Parsons, 72, of Fort Madison, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Fort Madison Community Hospital. Born August 29, 1938, in Burlington, he was the son of Edwin Marshall and Lula Mae Burkett Parsons. He first married Beverly Burke. They later divorced. He secondly married Cynthia Hester. They also divorced. On February 14, 1980, he married Mary Maynard in Dallas City, Illinois. Keith was a 1957 graduate of Danville High School. He was an Army Veteran, serving during the Berlin Crisis. He worked for Farm Service of Danville, Nelson Trucking, and Donald Holland Trucking, retiring January 25, 2005. He was of the Christian faith, and loved to listen to country music, grill outdoors, and spend time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Mary Parsons of Fort Madison; one son, Merlin (Lisa) Parsons of Muscatine; two daughters, Shelly (Jimmie) Axsom, and George and Angela (Curtis) Stein of Fort Madison; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Ron (Linda) Parsons of West Burlington; two sisters, Janet (Bud) Baney of Fort Madison, and Marilyn (Jeff) Howard of Denmark; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Gwendolyn Mae Parsons. Friends may call from noon until 7:00 p.m. today in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service for Keith will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 15th, in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Chad Savage will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. A memorial has been established
