Pauline Mae Parsons, 81, of West Burlington, died at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, aat Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Brn Feb. 3, 1919, in Vinton, she was the daughter of Allen Henry and Myrtie Rozella Tozier Hurst. She married Ernest Leroy Parsons on May 8, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Dec. 20, 1988. Mrs. Parsons was a 1936 graduate of Vinton High School. She worked as a cafeteria assistant for the Burlington Community School District for 13 years before her retirement in 1991. She was of the Protestant faith. She was inducted into Burlington Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 1979, and was a member of the King's Daughters. She was an avid bowler, card pllayer, and bingo player. Survivors include one daughter, Judith K. Howe of Burlington; one son, Gregory L. Parsons of Peachtree City, Ga.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Parsons will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Frank R. Beaty officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Hope Haven and St. Francis Continuation Care Center.
