Louis Jacob Parry, M.D., 86, of East Moline, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center, Moline. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, where the Moline American Post 246 will conduct military rites. Visitation is Saturday 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA. Memorials may be made to the humane society of your choice. Louis was born February 1, 1922 in Dubuque, IA, the son of Paul B. and Dorothy Roven Parry. He was a 1939 graduate of Burlington High School and 1949 graduate of Marquette University School of Medicine. He interned at Great Lakes Naval Hospital from June 1949 - June 1950, and served at the Navy School of Aviation Medicine in Pensacola in 1952. Louis was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a flight surgeon, being discharged in 1995. Louis was a physician licensed to practice in Hawaii and California. He had his private practices in Hanford, CA, Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, CA, and for the last 15 years he was associated with Kaiser Permanente Group in Sacramento, CA. Louis was a member of the Quad Cities Tennis Club (formerly Southpark Tennis Club). Survivors include his sister, Jane Ortiz, Chicago; and brother and sister-in- law, James and Darlene Parry; and several nieces and nephews in Orion, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Dan, Paul and Bill.
