Obituary

Bradley Robert Parker, 54, of Burlington, died at 2:15 AM Friday, September 20, 2013, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born October 21, 1958, in Burlington, he was the son of Robert Edward and Mary Elizabeth Wells Parker. On January 29, 1988, he married Lori Ann Oetken in Kirksville, MO. Brad worked for Riley Paint and Riley Industrial Painting and the Burlington Golf Club. He was a 1977 graduate of Mediapolis High School. He then attended Truman State University, graduating in 1981. He enjoyed golfing, and was a St. Louis Cardinals, and Chicago Bears fan. Survivors include his wife, Lori; two daughters, Sarah Parker and Rachel Parker, both of Burlington; one granddaughter, Lily Greene; his mother, Mary Parker of Burlington; one brother, Steven (Teresa) Parker of Burlington; two sisters, Patti (Bruce) Scott of Pawleys Island, SC, and Jan (Scott) Zajac of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Terry. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, September 23, 2013 at Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mr. Parker will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Steven Parker officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Thielen Funeral Home following the burial. A memorial has been established.
