Virginia "Ginny" Parker peacefully went home to the Lord on February 6, 2007, at the home of her brother and sister-in-law in Fayetteville, Ark. Ginny was Born December 6, 1933 in Brooklyn Township, IL.Ginny is predeceased by her parents Charles and Elizabeth Akers of Illinois, her husband John Parker of Illinois, brothers Paul Hubbs, Leslie Akers, David Akers and Charles Akers, all of Illinois, sister Imogene Cox of Illinois, and great-granddaughter, Nicole Hartman of Iowa. Ginny is survived by her children Pamela Kugel and son-in-law Robert Kugel of Arkansas, Chris Martin and daughter-in-law Cindi Martin of Tennessee, step-daughter Sharon Whitman and her husband Robert of Burlington, stepson John "Butch" Parker of Florida, sisters Zelma McCracken and Donna Reeves of Arkansas, brother Max Akers of Arkansas, brother-in-law Eugene Reeves and sister-in-law Sharon Akers, both of Arkansas, and eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Ginny is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ginny will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and friend, who had twinkling eyes, an infectious smile and a never ending supply of warmth and kindness to everyone she knew. Ginny will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Washington Regional Friends of Hospice, c/o Washington Regional Foundation, PO Box 356, Fayetteville, Ark. 72702. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Lord of the Lake Lutheran Church in Diamond City, Ark. A private burial service will be held this spring in Iowa.
