Ruth A. Owens, 92, of Sperry, died at 10:30 am Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at her home.
Born December 11, 1918, in Derby, IA, she was the daughter of George and Ada Throckmorton Percy. On August 21, 1935, she married Earl Homer Owens in Derby, IA. He died February 21, 1974.
Ruth was a homemaker.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, Larry Earl (Linda) Owens of Oquawka, IL; two daughter, Carol Jean Goodwin of Burlington, and Connie L. (Ronald) Peterson of Howell, MI; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Juanita Weger.
As per Ruth's request cremation has been accorded.
The memorial service for Mrs. Owens will be held at Hass-Thielen Thielen Funeral Home at a later date. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association.
