Verus "Bebe" Leota Ossian-Morris, 94, of Burlington, formerly of Muncie, Ind., died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Burlington Care Center in Burlington. Born June 7, 1913, in Paducah, Ky., she was the daughter of Clifford C. and Josephine Cunningham Hiatt. On Sept. 22, 1934, she married Johan "John" Anton Elmer Ossian. He died May 22, 1980. In 1996, she married Ralph Morris. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Ossian-Morris graduated from high school in Muncie and attended Omaha University. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and trying new recipes. Survivors include one daughter, JoAnn Monroe of Burlington; one son, John Clifford Ossian of Burlington; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. The memorial funeral service for Mrs. Ossian-Morris will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with the Rev. Jerry Rigdon officiating. The body has been cremated. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for the Special Olympics.
