Norma Maxine "Cookie" Orthner, 91, of Burlington, died 3:05 a.m. Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Blair House Nursing and Rehab.
Born on August 22, 1921 in Fort Madison, IA, she was the daughter of Charles and Clara (Gunn) Barr. She married Robert Carl Orthner on June 29, 1940 in Fort Madison. He died September 1, 2000.
Cookie was co-owner and bookkeeper of C&O Heating and Refrigeration from 1960-1990. She was a member of the "Nutty Knitters".
Survivors include one son; Neil Orthner of Mount Vernon; one daughter, Holly Baldwin of Burlington; four grandchildren; one step grandson and two great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son.
