Evelyn May Orris, 98, of Burlington, died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday June 16, 2010, at Great River Medical Center-Klein Center in Burlington. Born August 20, 1911, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Arch A. and Mary Dora Schaile Bullard. On February 14, 1943, she married Theodore Orris in Las Cruces, N.M. He died January 22, 2002. Mrs. Orris was a homemaker, and worked as a nurses aide, laborer, and at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. She also raised one grandchild, Kimberly Chambers. She was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include two daughters, Marion Starr of Quincy, IL, and Teresa Minami of Golden, Colo.; one son, James Bohnenkamp of Fort Madison; and one grandchild. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated. The graveside memorial service for Mrs. Orris will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, with the Rev. Wayne Ryan officiating. Those attending will meet at 10:45 a.m. at the Sunnyside Avenue entrance to the cemetery. Prugh Funeral Service in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
