Ruth U. Olsen, 90, of Rock Island, IL, died Thursday, December 4, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Born August 27, 1918, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Raymond and Gertrude Weyer Uttry. On October 15, 1982, she married Kenneth Olsen in Rock Island, IL. Mrs. Olsen was employed at Bituminous Insurance Co. for 45 years, retiring as an administrative assistant in the employee service department. She was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church, Rock Island, Loyalty Circle Order of King's Daughters and a former member of the Franciscan Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband; and one stepdaughter, Linda Olsen of Des Moines. Private graveside services for Mrs. Olsen will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. A memorial has been established for Loyalty Circle Order of King's Daughters. Runge Mortuary in Davenport is assisting with arrangements.
