Robert M. Beck, 78, of 620 Dunham St., died at 8:25 pm Wednesday, June 20, 1990, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Born Oct. 16, 1911, in Des Moines County, he was the son of Arthur H. and Mathilda Beck. He married Polly A. Rogerson in November 1948 in Des Moines.
He had worked at Benner Tea Co., Hy-Vee No. 1, and Mississippi Bakery. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and the Bakers and Confectionery Union. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Linda (Robert) Wright, Village Prairie, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Scarborough, Lakewood, Ohio, and Mrs. Dorothy Hyter, Raleigh, NC; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Friday at Prugh’s Chapel. Graveside committal service for Mr. Beck will be 10:30 am Saturday at the Aspen Grove Cemetery with Rev. Chris Hansen officiating.
