Joan Newbold, 81, of Burlington, died at 11:27 AM Thursday, September 28, 2017, at the Great River Klein Center.
Born May 11, 1936, in Milton, she was the daughter of Gayle Earl and Virginia Bessie Ford Moffett. On June 13, 1954, she married Roger Lee Newbold in Hillsboro. He passed away on June 12, 2014.
Joan was a homemaker.
Her two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren meant the world to her. She enjoyed traveling, particularly to the mountains and oceans. She also enjoyed baking.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamala (Steve) Gerhardt of Burlington; her son, Scot Newbold; two grandchildren, Tod (Tracy) Gerhardt of Burlington, and Matt (Angie) Gerhardt of Pittsburg, PA; three great-grandchildren, Connor, Carter, and, Addison; three brothers, Mike (Dar) Moffett of Salem, Mark (Linda) Moffett of Mount Pleasant, and Merritt (Dee) Moffett of New London; one sister, Bev (Jerry) Sloan of Eldon; and several nieces and nephews;.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The funeral service for Mrs. Newbold will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 2, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Will Ryan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.
