Rose Mary Moss, 87, of West Burlington, died 4:40 a.m., Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her daughter's residence.
Born March 14, 1930 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Kroll) Frenzer. She married Ralph E. Moss on July 11, 1950 in Springfield, IL. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1961.
Rose was employed as a production worker at Exide and worked for Sunnyside School. She was a graduate of the Burlington High School class of 1949. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parrish. She belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society and also helped with the Boy Scouts Youth Center in West Burlington. Her hobbies included crocheting, gardening and baking. She found the most enjoyment from spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Survivors include two sons, Frank (Mary) Moss of Oakville, IA and James (Renee) Moss of Burlington; one daughter, Deb (Hans) Trousil of West Burlington; ten grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild with two on the way; one sister, Antoinette Kerr of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson John; and sisters, Charlotte Peterson, Clara Waltrip and twin Ruthie Smith.
According to her wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program for medical research.
Memorials have been established for the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City, The Altar and Rosary Society of Divine Mercy Parish, and the Des Moines County Special Needs Foundation.
