Edward K. Nelson, 67, of Algoma, Wisconsin, formerly of Chicago, Illinois died on Monday February 6, 2006, at Door County Community Hospital in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Born July 20, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Ernest A. and Bertha Schmidt Nelson. He married Lois M. Schultz on November 16, 1963. Mr. Nelson was a 1956 graduate of Burlington High School. He served in the Navy from January 1960 to December 1961. He was employed as an office manager before his retirement in 2003. Survivors include his wife of Algoma; two sisters, Gladys Kamp and Lucille Totten, both of West Burlington, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Mary K. Ludlow of Algoma; and two nephews, Deron Baker of Algoma and Damon Baker of Mediapolis, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial has been establlished for Bethany Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
