Obituary
William Donavan Neese, 58, of Burlington, died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born July 22, 1950, in Burlington, he was the son of Van Wilson and Earlis Louise Johnson Neese. On November 1, 1969, he married Elizabeth Formella in Burlington. On October 18, 1994, he married Janice Burke in Las Vegas, NV. Bill worked at J. I. Case Corp. for 31 years. He retired in 2002. He was a 1968 graduate of Burlington High School, and attended Southeastern Community College for engineering. He attended First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He was a member of UAW Local 807, Carthage Lake Club, Tri State Gun Club, and the Yarmouth Gun Club. He was an avid trapshooter, fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Jan of Burlington; his mother Eerlis Tisor of Burlington and stepfather Don Tisor of Burlington; two daughters, Christy Elizabeth Neese of West Burlington, and Heidi Suzanne (Jimbo) Bottomly of Raleigh, NC; one son, James Donovan (Colleen) Neese of Cave Creek, AZ; one stepdaughter, Stefanie Sink of Burlington; one stepson, Robbie (Jessica) Sink of Burlington; four grandchildren, Nicholas Neese, Kara Sink, Ryan Neese, and Tyler Neese; two sisters, Vanette (Larry) Wooldridge and Marlys (Larry) McClurg, both of Burlington; one stepbrother, Merle (Connie) Tisor of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. As per the request of Mr. Neese, cremation has been accorded. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The Memorial Service for Mr. Neese will be 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his grandchildren's education.
