Obituary
Mr. Ralph Earl Neal, Jr., 79, of Ankeny, IA, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 8, 2013, at 7:15 a.m. at his home with his family and good friends, Gary and Sharon, by his side.
Born December 19, 1933 in Burlington, and was a graduate of Burlington High School.
On May 29, 1954 he married Helen Mosena. He served in the US Army for two years during the Korean War. He then was employed as a salesman at Schram & Schmeig. As he traveled many miles across Iowa, Ralph established many friendships along the way with his sense of humor and loyalty. The rest of his life was spent managing Ben Franklin Stores before retiring. In his early years, Ralph enjoyed coaching little league baseball. He also enjoyed being and avid lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
The family would like to acknowledge Dr Sean Cunningham for the excellent care he provided Ralph throughout his life. Ralph created a very special relationship with Dr. Cunningham and he sincerely appreciated all the counsel and advice he received during his forty year battle with rheumatoid arthritis.
Ralph is survived by Helen Neal of Ankeny, IA, his wife of 58 years, 8 months; two daughters; a son and daughter-in-law; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister and a brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
