Harold E. Beard, 88, of 510 S. Garfield, died at 2:15 pm Thursday, Jan. 7, 1988, at St. Francis Continuation Care Center.
Born No. 21, 1899, in Burlington, he was the son of Hiram Edgar and Edith Bell Jenkins Beard. He married Dorothy Schroeder May 15, 1947, at Creston.
He had worked for Chittenden & Eastman Co., West Burlington railroad shops, and Witte Drug Store. He was retired.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, and a sister, Mrs. Emil Gerdes, Tuscon, Ariz.
There will be no family visitation. Graveside committal service for Mr. Beard will be 1:30 pm Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Martines officiating.
A memorial has been established for the St. Francis Continuation Care Center.
