Barbara Jean Mylon, 75, of West Burlington died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at her home. Born Aug. 6, 1931, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Roger and Clara Sommerfeld Orton. On Oct. 11, 1948, she married Wayne James Basquin in Burlington. He died Oct. 30, 1958. On April 6, 1963, she married Timothy Joseph Mylon in Las Vegas. He died Oct. 30, 2001. Mrs. Mylon was a home health aide for Southeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging for 13 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church. She also belonged to the Golden Oldies, Hawkeye Natives, VFW Post 10102 ladies auxiliary and the Good Neighbors Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and pinochle. Survivors include one son, Wayne Basquin of Burlington; two daughters, Shirley Hoenig of Fort Madison, and Candace Clubb of League City, Texas; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Orton and Harold Orton, both of Burlington; one sister, Helen Rawlings of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two grandchildren and one sister. Visitation will begin after 8 a.m., Thursday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Mylon will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jackie L. Bradford officiating. Her body will be cremated after the funeral and inurnment will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for West Burlington United Methodist Church and Great River Hospice.
