Mrs. Viola N. Myatt, 84, of Burlington died at 10:55 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Blair House.
Born November 8, 1931 in Briscoe County, Texas, she was the daughter of William T. and Ruth (Whiteley) Diviney. On June 11, 1950 she married Russell H. Myatt in West Burlington. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2001.
Mrs. Myatt was a 1950 graduate of Burlington High School. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Myatt was a member of Parkside First Baptist Church and American Baptist Women. She was very active with the Boy Scouts and was a previous member of the Sweet Adelines and her church choir. She enjoyed bird watching and loved her dog, Sammy.
Survivors include two sons, David (Diane) Myatt of Cedarburg, Wisconsin and Alan (Anna) Myatt of Little Rock, Arkansas; one daughter, Linda Myatt of Farmington; four grandchildren, Jason Myatt, Lisa Woodman, Rob Myatt and Spencer Myatt; two great grandchildren, Connor Woodman and Logan Woodman; sister, Cleone Meilahn of Lighthouse Point, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers W.T., Finley, Albert and Cleve and sisters Alta Mae and Irene.
Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Friday, July 29th, at Parkside First Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m.
The funeral service for Mrs. Myatt will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30th, at Parkside First Baptist Church with Pastor Marshall Jackman officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Parkside First Baptist Church and Mississippi Valley Council #141 BSA.
