Ruby M. Beamis, 78, of 507 Vernon Ave., West Burlington, died Wednesday, June 7, 1989, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born April 14, 1911, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Herman and Mabel Stearns Helmuth. She married John Beamis Nov. 19, 1949, in Monmouth, Ill. He died in 1962.
She was a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are three daughters, Wanda Butts, Dubuque, Jean Patrick, Burlington, and Lois Hookom, West Burlington; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 pm Saturday at Lunning Chapel.
The service for Mrs. Bemis will be at 2 pm Sunday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Richard Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
