John Henry Beamis, 63, 2210 Valley, died at Burlington hospital at 1:35 pm Friday. He had been a patient there for two days.
He was born Dec. 5, 1896, in New Boston, the son of Joseph and Mary Bell Beamis. He married Ruby Helmuth Schmide, at Monmouth, Ill., Nov. 19, 1949.
He was a former employee of the Ellis Lumber Co. and had retired in 1959. He served in the Rainbow Division in WWI.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Wanda Butts, 242 Ordnance; Mrs. Dorothy Patrick, 317 Haynes; and Mrs. Lois Hookom, Pt. 2; two brothers, Ray, 2026 Ridge Row; and Jack, Decatur, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Nell Willey, New London; and four grandchildren. One sister is dead.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 pm at Elliott-Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Don Klohr will officiate. Burial will be at Aspen Grove Cemetery with military rites at the graveside.
