Funeral for Mrs. Edith Beames, 71, of 2026 Ridge Row, who died Tuesday, Jan. 17, will be 11 am Thursday, Lunning Chapel, Dr. Robert V. Gildner and Rev. Frank Phifer; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial to the second floor of Klien Memorial hospital has been established at the chapel.
She was born May 23, 1906, in Des Moines County, the daughter of Herman and Mabel Stearns Helmuth. She married Raymond J. Beames March 6, 1932, in Keokuk.
She was a bookkeeper at Floors Inc. and was a member of the Gladstone, Ill., United Methodist Church and it’s WSCS.
Surviving the husband; four sons, Harold Williams, Gladstone, and Robert Williams and Kenneth and Richard Beames, all of Burlington; sister, Ruby Beames, Burlington; six grandchildren., two great-grandchildren.
