Linda M. Hodges, 55, of West Burlington, died at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at her home. Born Dec. 8, 1955, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Doyle Edward and Mary Jane Specketer Moyers. Miss Hodges was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed Looney Tunes cartoons and old television shows, Christian music and spending time with her family. Survivors include one son, David M. Hodges of Iowa City; one daughter, Amy Szumal of Burlington; three grandchildren; four brothers, Doyle "Bud" Moyers Jr. of Bakersfield, Calif., Kenneth Moyers, Joseph Moyers, and Samuel Moyers, all of Burlington; three sisters, Susan George, Debra Daly, and Bonnie Moyers, all of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece. Visitation will be from 12 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service for Miss Hodges will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Selmon officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
