Mr. Clarence Wesley Moyers, 78, of Burlington died at 7:53 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Great River Medical Center.
Born January 9, 1938 in Burlington he was the son of Enos (Pete) Wesley Jr. and Frances L. (Fye) Moyers. On September 12, 1958 he married Karren Huffman in Burlington.
Mr. Moyers was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict serving on the USS Iowa. He worked at General Electric as a low voltage breaker repairman, traveling all over for 35 years, retiring on February 6, 1999.
Mr. Moyers was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working on furniture, antiquing, jigsaw puzzles, yardwork, and puttering around in his garage. He loved his family, playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and his dog, Sheba.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Karren Moyers of Burlington; two sons, Faron (Corie) Moyers of Clements, California and Tony (Regina) Moyers of Greenwood, Indiana; daughter, Ronda (Tim) Zahner of Franksville, Wisconsin; daughter-in-law, Shelly Moyers of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Kelly Green, Jason Zahner, Scott Moyers, Adam Moyers, Bryan Moyers, Nicholas Zahner, Matthew Moyers and Tyler Zahner; nine great grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Ashly, Wyatt, Nathan, Lucas, Paisley, Drake and Wesley; two brothers, Arthur Moyers of Mediapolis and Clifford Moyers of Burlington; and one sister, Verna Roden of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chris Moyers and infant brother.
The funeral service for Mr. Moyers will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 8th, at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Chris Roepke officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites.
A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Association of Burlington.
