Mr. James Atwood Moser, 82, of Burlington died at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born July 25, 1929 in Kingston, he was the son of George R. and Laura Aida York Moser. On December 10, 1950 he married Pearl Marie Norton in Burlington. Mr. Moser was a graduate of Huron High School. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Occupation of Nazi Germany. Mr. Moser worked as an inspector at General Electric for 28 years. He was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge #579, and a past member of Eagles Aerie #150 and V.F.W. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coin collecting and traveling across country to visit family in Arizona and California. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Pearl Moser of Burlington; one daughter, Debra (Ron) Young of Mesa, AZ; two sons, James (Cris) Moser Jr. of Ceres, CA and Douglas Moser of Lincoln, CA; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jacob Moser and Delbert Moser both of Burlington; and two sisters, Georgia Bell Hulett of Mediapolis and Alice Paschal of Roseville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Moser; four brothers, Frank Moser, Richard Moser, Edward Moser and George Moser and two sisters, Ruth Seitz and Lauraida Howe. Friends may call from 1 until 7 p.m. Sunday April 15, with Moose Lodge #579 conducting Moose Rites at 5 p.m. Jim's family will receive friends following Moose Rites from 5 until 7 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, in Lunning Chapel with burial to follow in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veteran's Honor Guard and the Iowa Army Guard Honors Detail at the graveside. Pastor Dean Graber will officiate. A memorial has been established to Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, IA.
