Louise A. Koepf, 98, of Burlington, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, at Park Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Pleasant Hill. Born October 14, 1911, in Adair, she was the daughter of George Daniel and Wilhelmena "Minnie" Richman Yoder. On November 20, 1937, she married Ralph C. Koepf in Burlington. He died October 25, 1959. Mrs. Koepf taught in Des Moines County rural schools, including Tama No. 5, Snyder, Flint River, Fairview, Latty, Buena Vista, Middletown, S. Jackson, and Zion. She also taught fourth grade at St. John's Catholic School for nine years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the choir and taught Sunday School. She was a member of Prime Time, Belleek Collectors International Society and the former Rural School Teacher's Society. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Virginia Fry of Burlington; one step-grandchild; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. The funeral for Mrs. Koepf will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Erick Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington.
