Marilee R. Morrison, 87, former resident of Burlington, Iowa, died at East Ridge Retirement Village, Miami, Florida on Wednesday, June 10, 2015.
Born on November 10, 1927 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Fred A. and Edith R. Burkhart Morrison. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lyman Morrison.
Marilee moved to Miami in 1945 with her family. She worked as a personal shopper at Burdines Department store and retired from Macy's as a loan officer. Marilee enjoyed reading and traveling. She had the opportunity it to travel to Hong Kong, Hawaii, San Francisco, Ireland and the Grand Canyon. She was a member of Sunset Church of Christ in Miami, Florida.
She is survived by her best friends Susan Demorsky of Frisco, Texas; Helen Field of Burlington,Iowa and Terrie Cestari of Plant City, Florida and David Capiro of Miami, Florida.
A graveside committal service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Aspen Grove Cemetery. Friends are asked to gather at the Sunnyside Gate Entrance and follow the funeral procession to the gravesite.
