Naomi Baylark, 73, of Burlington, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born December 30, 1936, in Hermandale, MO, she was the daughter of Fimon and Opal Watson Miller. On October 20, 1956, she married Willis Baylark, Jr. in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Baylark was a homemaker. She was a member of Highway Ministries. She opened her home to the needy. She enjoyed going to church, gospel music, cooking for family, and talking to her siblings. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Randy Baylark and Anthony Baylark, both of Burlington, Lonnie Baylark of Cedar Rapids, and Dexter Baylark of Ottumwa; five daughters, Janice Marie Baylark, Ramona Smith, Kim Baylark, and Rachael Baylark, all of Burlington, and Lavern Taborn of Galesburg, Ill.; three brothers, John Q., Lee Andrew, and Leroy Miller, all of St. Louis, MO; six sisters Johnnie Mae Jones and Ruby Powell of St. Louis, Dorothy Ore of Boise, Idaho, Shirley Lewis of Burlington, and twins Doreatha Crawford of Coralville, and Pearletha Maxwell of Williamsburg; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one infant son, her parents, two brothers, and one sister. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Open Bible in Burlington. The funeral for Mrs. Baylark will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Open Bible, with the Rev. Lindsay Blalock officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established in memory of Mrs. Baylark.
