Thelma Mae Baxter, 55 of 1602 Agency, died at Burlington hospital Saturday at 11:10 am. She was taken to the hospital by police ambulance after being stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage while at work at the Dixie Dress Shop, 312 Jefferson.
She was born Apr. 20, 1906, at St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Lillian White Holmes. On June 2, 1924, she married Charles J. Baxter in Burlington.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Charles H. and John E. Baxter, both of Burlington; five grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday at 2 pm in Prugh’s Chapel, Dr. George G. Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
