Jack Richard Jones, 78, of Burlington, died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center Klein Unit. Born May 16, 1921, in Burlington, he was the son of Herbert and Edna Larson Jones. On March 15, 1947, he married Louise John in Galesburg, Illinois. Mr. Jones was a 1939 graduate of Burlington High School. He was a medical security sales person for 25 years, retiring in 1984. He previously worked as a machinist for Murray Iron Works for six years. Mr. Jones was a member of West Avenue Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School at both Woodlawn and West Avenue Baptist Churches. Survivors include his wife, Louise Jones of Burlington; one son, Steven Jones of Tujunga, California; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Florence Latta of Burlington. His parents preceded him in death. There will be no service or visitation. According to Mr. Jones' wishes, his body has been deeded to the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences of Des Moines.
