Mary Edith Ekdale Baumle, 89, of Manitowoc, Wis., died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc. Born Oct. 4, 1910, in Burlngton, she was the daughter of Neal and Edith Harper Ekdale. She married Charles E. Baumle on Feb. 26, 1935, in Burlington. He died March 4, 1958. Mrs. Baumle was a kindergarten teacher at Corse School in Burlington from 1958 to 1974. After retiring, she moved to the Manitowoc area in 1989. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Manitowoc and Rahr West Museum. Survivors include two daughters, Christina B. Marinaccio of Kohler, Wis., and Martha Swats of Big Sky, Mont.; four grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and one sister, Martha Ekdale Conrad of Manitowoc. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral for Mrs. Baumle will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Episcopal Church in Manitowoc, Wis. The graveside committal service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, with the Rev. Canon Patrick Genereux officiating. Memorials have been established for St. James Episcopal Church and the Art Guild of Burlington. Prugh Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
