Obituary

Mrs. Charlotte Ballou, 62, a representative of Penn Mutual Live Insurance Co., for 25 years, died in St. Francis Hospital at 6:45 am Sunday, after a long illness. Her home was at 720 Franklin St.
Mrs. Ballou was a native of Sturgis, Ky., and was born Nov. 4, 1904, the daughter of Charles and Mollie Henry Shaffer. She was the widow of H. Chare Ballou, a long-time general secretary of the YMCA, who died December of 1943.
Mrs. Ballou was a member of First Presbyterian Church and of the Insurance Underwriters Association.
Surviving; Daughter Mrs. Gwen Minard, Burlington; brother Raymond Shaffer, Louisville, Ky., and sisters Mrs. Pearl Woodward, Burlington; Mrs. Mary Berry and Mrs. Naomi Benson, both of Sturgis; Mrs. Elizabeth Stevens, Huntington, W. Va.; ad Mrs. Martha Miller of Evansville, Ind.; also two grandchildren, a brother, and a sister died previously.
Services: Tuesday at two at Elliott-Lunning Chapel, the Rev. Roscoe Wolvington, Aspen Grove cemetery.
