Robert Edwin Lee Baugher, 73, of 703 Hagemann St., died at 7:38 am Friday, Jan 1, 1993, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born March 8, 1919, in Greensburg, Mo., he was the son of James and Bertha Baugher. On March 25, 1955, he married Marietta Lucille Allen in Davenport.
Mr. Baugher worked for the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant for 36 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and the Des Moines Lodge No. 1 AF & AM and served as master in 1966. He served in the US Army in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a graduate of Bating High School, Baring, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Art Baugher of Burlington; one daughter, Ginger Williams of Quincy, Ill.; one step-daughter, Portia Matese of Venice, Fla.; two grandsons; and two sisters, Irene Van Tress and Madeline Peterson, both of Canton, Mo.
There will be no visitation. The body of Mr. Baugher has been cremated.
A memorial service and burial will be at a later date.
A memorial has been established to the Bethan Lutheran Church Food Pantry.
