Arthur Kenneth Miller, 80, of Cambridge, Illinois, formerly of Burlington, died on Sunday, July 2,2006 at his home. Born June 11, 1926, in Kingston, he was the son of Walter Harrison and Elmyra Pearl Kneedy Miller. On June 11, 1956, he married Elizabeth Joyce Severns in Iowa City. She died June 2, 1963. On July 20, 1968, he married Reeda Jenkins in Rock Island. She died February 4, 1997. Mr. Miller was employed by Champion as a machine operator for 23 1/2 years. He was a 1944 graduate of Oakville High School. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954, during which he earned the Colorado National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, a UN Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He enjoyed playing pinochle, putt-putt golf, pool and bingo. He was an active participant at the Steamboat Senior Center. He built bird houses for Lehigh=Leopold and took traffic counts for the city of Burlington. Survivors include two sons, Terry Miller of Roselle, Illinois, and Jerry Miller of Cambridge, Illinois; one granddaughter; 12 step- grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Melanie Adams of San Antonio, Texas. Elaine Frederickson of Riverside, California and Nancy DeForest of Madison, Wisconsin; one sister, Maxine Louck of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. Rev. Marshall Jackman will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. With graveside military rites conducted by the Des Moines County Honor Guard. A memorial, has been established for the Audobon Society.
