John C. Meyer, 80, of Burlington, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, June 13, 1999, at his home. Born July 31, 1918, in Burlington, he was the son of Clarence G. and Ida Lundstrom Meyer. Mr. Meyer was director of the Community Chest in the Quad Cities and Burlington. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Burlington, and as a young man was the first Burlngton citizen to hold the office of President of the Iowa State DeMolay Organization. Survivors include one sister, Marjorie Meyer of Burlington; three nephews, John Fullerton of Omaha, Neb., Robert Fullerton of Highland Ranch, Colo., and James Fullerton of Pocatello, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. today in Prugh's Chapel. There will be no family visitation. The graveside funeral for Mr. Meyer will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Chapman officiating.
