Mrs. Donna Marcelle Kaup, 84, of Burlington died at 3:30 AM Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born December 18, 1921 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Roy H. and Margaret L Hodges Uffelman. On February 3, 1943 she married Robert J. Messmer in Burlington, Iowa. He died October 22, 1967. On March 11, 1969 she married Harold Emil Kaup in Rochester, New York. He died July 25, 2005. She graduated from Burlington High School. Mrs. Kaup retired as Second Deputy Des Moines County Treasurer after serving from 1956 to 1982. She was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ and AARP. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and canning. Survivors include one daughter, Judith (John) Mathes of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Laura Mathes of Columbia, Missouri, Robert (Mary) Mathes of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jeffery Mathes of Weatherford, Oklahoma; 3 great grandchildren, Taylor, Kendal and Braden Mathes; 2 nieces, Lyn Springut and Teri Bjorn; and two nephews, David Ullrich and Don Uffelman. Her husbands, parents one brother Roy Uffelman and one sister Doris Ullrich preceded her in death. Friends may call from 12:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, December 8th in Lunning Chapel.
