Donald Leo Merritt,52, of 1009 Hagemann Ave., died at 5:40 a.m. Friday, July 9, 1993, at Burlington Medical Center. Born June 21, 1941, at Topeka, Kan., he was the son of Edwin and Jean Doud Goldsberry Merritt. On Jan. 1, 1962, he married Connie L. Glassford, at Fort Madison. He worked at J.I. Case Co. as an Industrial Engineer, and was a member of the Santa Fe United Methodist Church, Fort Madison. He served in the Air Force and spent 13 months in Korea. He graduated from Fort Madison Senior High in 1960, received an Associate Degree at SCC and a B.A. Degree in Business at Iowa Wesleyan College in 1981. Survivors include his wife; one son, Todd Merritt; one daughter, Carrie Vogel; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel with family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The funeral for Mr. Merritt will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel. A memorial has been established.
