Obituary
Mrs. Margery J. Bash, 89, of Burlington, died at 4:57 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born November 18, 1923 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Albert L. and Edna L. Russell Butts. On June 10, 1978 she married Robert L. "Bob" Bash on a cabin cruiser in the marina at Oquawka, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1998. She was previously married to Roy C. Bernhart. Mrs. Bash attended Burlington High School. She worked for ten years at Sylvania Electric, was lounge manager at Holiday Inn for ten years and in the Physical Therapy Department of St. Francis for over seven years. She retired in 1985. Mrs. Bash was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Moose Auxiliary and Chapter E Goldwing Road Riders Association. Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Williams of Burlington; two sons, Tim (Chris) Bernhart and Jeff (Glenda) Bernhart both of Burlington; one step son, Duane (Lisa) Bash of Moberly, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one brother, Paul A. (Marlene) Butts of Burlington; two sisters-in-law, Christa Butts and Veda Butts and godchild, Cindy Young. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers Howard, Robert, Bud and John; one sister, Alice; one grandson Michael; and one great grandson, Martavies. Friends may call from noon until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21st, at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. The memorial funeral service and inurnment for Mrs. Bash will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 23rd, in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Moberg will officiate. According to Mrs. Bash's wishes, cremation will be accorded following the visitation.
