Obituary
Mary McVey, 64, of Keokuk, died at 6:25 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Keokuk Area Hospital. She was born April 6, 1944, the daughter of Robert Henry and Elizabeth Ann VanAusdall Lorber. On June 7, 1976, she married Paul McVey in Burlington. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1989. She was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church. Mary is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Lorber of West Burlington; one son. Patrick Stephen Waters of Burlington; two sisters, Marta (Steve) Frye of Peabody, Kansas, and Lolly (Doug) Belz of Hamilton, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Joshua and Rachael; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, father and brother, Joseph Lorber. Graveside ash committal services will be held on Wednesday February 25, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Morris Hurd officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
