Vivian Ellen McVeigh, 86, of Burlington, died at her home Saturday, August 20, 2016.
Born March 24, 1930 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of James and Jennie (Beard) Hunter.
Vivian worked for Schramms and Younkers. She was a season ticket holder for the Burlington Bees. She loved watching the Bees and Iowa Hawkeye Basketball. She enjoyed her time with the "lunch ladies" and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son; Ronald (Kim) Tuttle of Paducah, KY; one daughter, Sandra (Chuck) Oetken of New London; two sisters, Marylou Martin of Kahoka, MO and Evelyn (Fletcher) Carr of Akron, OH; four grandsons, Ryan (Carrie) Tuttle of Paducah, KY, Riley (Lesley) Smith of Tuscola, IL, Shawn (Amanda) Holder of Paducah, KY and Shane Holder of Shawnee, OK; two granddaughters, Sarha (David) Smith of St. Joseph, MO and Anna Peck of Paducah, KY; several great grandsons and great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Robert Emmett Tuttle and Robert Allen McVeigh, two brothers, Jack Hunter and Jim Hunter, one sister, Peggy Fuller and one sister in infancy.
The funeral service for Mrs. McVeigh will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 23rd at West Avenue Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Ruberg will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 22nd at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.
A memorial has been established for West Avenue Baptist Church.
