Obituary

Oscar Earl McLin, 91, formerly of Milan, Ill., died Friday, July 29, 2011, at Great River Medical Center-Klein Unit in Burlington. Born May 30, 1920, in Petersburg, Ill., he was the son of Oscar and Ina E. Fielden McLin. On Aug. 7, 1955, he married Irene Maud Kramer in Macomb, Ill. She died Jan. 17, 2004. Mr. McLin worked 17 years as a mechanic at Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois. He served in the Army during World War II. He was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed gardening, sharing his produce and time with others, and reading westerns. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington, where family will receive friends. The funeral for Mr. McLin will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Tyrone Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for GMC-Klein Center Alzheimer's Unit.
