Charles Alva Barrett, 71, of 825 Hedge, died Thursday at 6 am in Burlington hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 6, 1890, at Sheffield, Ia., the son of Charles and Jennie Barrett and was married to Mabel Fay at Hampton, I a., Oct. 18, 1913. A retired salesman, he was a member of the First Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter Mrs. Ruth Scheideman, Burlington; one grandson, several nieces, and nephews. His parents and one sister died earlier.
Services will be Saturday at 2 pm in Prugh’s Chapel, Rev. LZ Patton officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
