Johnny Lee McCabe, 58, of Burlington, died at 10:26 AM Monday, July 3, 2017, at his home.
Born February 23, 1959, in Illinois, he was the son of John Franklin and Linda Lou Decker McCabe.
Johnny was a construction and concrete worker for Carl E. Nelson for 19 years and was self employed for many years.
He was a 1977 graduate of Burlington High School.
He enjoyed playing his guitar, woodworking, fishing, and taking his boat on the river. Johnny was one heck of a mechanic. He enjoyed being with his family, friends, and his Osborn neighbors, his friends meant everything to him.
Survivors include his father; his special friend, Samie Morrow; one son, Jeffrey "Hawk" McCabe of Burlington; five grandchildren; three sisters, Kat Dugan of Burlington, Lori Pauley of Fort Madison, and Brenda Boyer of St. Lucas, IA; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and one nephew.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
No formal visitation is planned. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
